Scrumptious Blog – What’s for Supper?

October 14, 2009 by Louise

Juno from Johannesburg is entirely devoted to food, cooking, recipes and feeding her family. She has been cooking since she was nine or so, favouring simple home cooking that warms your heart and makes your tastebuds sing.

Juno is not a huge fan of making (or eating) cakes and desserts (apart from anything ice-cream related), and says “the only things I don’t eat (apart from cakes, etc) are over-ripe or cooked bananas (I just can’t stand the slime factor; eeeu!) and any type of offal or organ meat (with the exception of chicken liver paté).”

But her innovative, mouth-watering, simple yet delicious recipes always have us coming back for more. Think Ripe Figs with Baked Brie and Spicy Caramel Walnuts, Spinach and Ricotta Gnocchi with Fresh Tomato and Cream Sauce, Beetroot Hummous with Wilted Greens, Feta and Lemon, Fresh Sweetcorn, Feta and Leek Fritters… and Bar One and Coffee Ice Cream Bombe!
