Hello! I’m Lou, thank-you for stopping by my recipe website! I started it in 2009 as a digital collection of my favourite recipes, many of them (especially the baking ones) are family recipes that have been passed down through generations. I use the website weekly if not daily and so I hope you find it useful too!
As you will discover from the recipes, I love simplicity and hence the name for this blog. So often I come across recipes that seem unnecessarily complicated, so my best thing to do is edit them down and create something more casual and fuss-free.
I try add one new recipe a month although it is not uncommon for months to go by without one single recipe being added. Behind the scenes though, I am always trying new recipes and adding to my collection of “need to add to the blog” recipes. Thing is, blog posts take time. Testing, photographing, writing and editing etc. So I do try and squeeze in blog time when I am not running around my 3 boys.
On the website, you’ll find all the classics like scones, pancakes, cottage pie, chicken a la king etc. And then you will find my latest recipes which are typically family meals, side dishes or sweet treats. If you would like to see a recipe on the site that I don’t have, please do share!
I do quite a lot of research online about what people are searching for but I also use Pinterest a lot. I experiment with recipes too – delete, add, summarise ingredients and methods and sometimes I create recipes from scratch. You can follow me on Pinterest here
How do I modify recipes?
Where I can, I always try and reduce the amount of sugar in a recipe and simplify them to as few steps and ingredients as possible. I also try and substitute ingredients that I know would be difficult to find locally – Ingredients should be found easily at your local grocer (most of the time anyway) . Not all the recipes are quick BUT they are all intended to be easy!!Can you publish a recipe of mine and use my photo?
Yes, of course you can! All I ask is that if you do use one of my photos or recipes, please use a “follow” link back to me, the URL is http://www.JustEasyRecipes.com
