You’ll have to put the diet aside for this one guys. Just for one day. It’s fluffy, it’s light and best of all it tastes like Nutella..which is a chocolate-hazelnut spread for the uninitiated! This recipe is just for the icing (frosting). I cheated and used Moirs’ Cake Mix for the cupcakes but if you want to make cupcakes from scratch as well, use this vanilla recipe or this chocolate cupcake recipe. Remember that if the consistency is too thick, just add some more cream and if it’s too thin, just add more Nutella or icing sugar. Makes enough to ice one cake or 12-15 cupcakes.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 12-15 cupcakes 1x
Description
A light, fluffy icing made with Nutella chocolate spread! For out-of-this-world cupcakes!
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 cups icing sugar (powdered sugar)
- 1 cup nutella (or any other choc-hazelnut spread)
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons whipping cream
Instructions
- Using a mixer, beat the butter and icing sugar together until smooth and creamy. I used my Kitchen Aid on low-medium speed.
- Now add the Nutella and beat for two minutes on medium
- Add the vanilla extract and salt and mix for an additional 30 seconds.
- Lastly, add the cream and beat for about one minute. The icing should look light, fluffy and ready to devour!
The reason i made this is because my sister seemed to be eating a lot of nutella, so i decided to try and make cupcakes with nutella frosting. I was kinda worried how this would turn out because i have never tried to make frosting. But this is great it looks exactly like the picture. But i dont think that what i made could hold up as well as the pictures show that it does.
Made this for my daughter bc she loves Nutella. I used a little under a cup of Nutella and almost 3 cups of powdered sugar and about a teaspoon less of milk and it was just about perfect for piping 🙂
The ingredients call for 2 tablespoons of cream… What do you use as cream?

On the ingredient list it says 2 tablespoons of cream… Which cream do you use
The nutella frosting did not come out as fluffy as the picture unfortunately, i turned out to be more creamy than I expected. Nonetheless, it taste great
This is an excellent feature, an eye-opener for sure!
